Simi Valley has taken major steps to implement miles of bikeways since the adoption of its 2002 plan. The Simi Valley Citywide Bicycle Master plan update builds upon the success of the 2002 plan by assessing the feasibility of the currently recommended bikeway network, recommending new or modified facilities to fill gaps in the network, and by prioritizing a plan for facility and programmatic improvements in Simi Valley. A major objective of the plan will be to meet the requirements of the Caltrans Bicycle Transportation Account program which allows the City to compete for this funding sources as well as numerous other funding programs.
