Latest Information on the Pedestrian Master Plan Process

Alameda Countywide Strategic Pedestrian Plan

The Alameda County Transportation Authority ACTIA, is currently developing the Strategic Plan.  Above is a link to the Authority’s website where meetings agendas and materials are posted.

The Pedestrian Plan presents in-depth research in an effort to answer the questions “who is walking, how much and why”?  The Pedestrian Plan includes demographic analysis, pedestrian collision analysis, public health statistics and walking mode share information by trip purpose.  A list of priority projects for the Pedestrian Plan and recommendations for funding projects and programs will be included.  In addition to the plan document, the consultant team is developing an online “toolkit” for use by public agency staff, elected officials, advocates and community members.  The toolkit will provide resources and recommendations for making communities more pedestrian friendly.
