About Alta

We have experience working in all sizes of communities, from a few thousand residents to millions, from rural, mountain and desert to suburban and urbanized areas. We strive to tailor each project to the community's unique setting, history and culture through active public participation processes.

Staff

Our staff include some of the leading non-motorized transportation planners and designers in the country. Alta staff have performed original research, presented to conferences, and published articles for organizations such as:

• the U.S. Department of Transportation,
• the Institute of Transportation Engineers,
• the American Planning Association,
• the American Society of Landscape Architects,
• the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy,
• the Urban Land Institute, and
• the Bicycle Federation of America.

They are also active in professional organizations including the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the Transportation Research Board.
